Review of NY Kids Club Upper West Side for Birthday Parties.
Planning a birthday party on Manhattan's Upper West Side and looking for a fun party space? I recently appeared at NY Kids Club at 601 Amsterdam Ave (at 89th St.) for a birthday party for a little boy and about 30 of his classmates. I found this party space to be remarkably well managed. The staff was extremely professional, kid-friendly and enthusiastic.
I felt that this party space was safe and fun but that it was a bit too noisy for my show. When I perform a magic show it is best if the kids are in a distraction free area with limited background noise. Unfortunately I was booked to do my show as the children were being served pizza. That's bad timing. A group of 5 year olds needs a quiet show area. Don't serve food during my show! About 15 minutes into my show, I was interrupted by the staff who needed to serve cake ... in the middle of my best trick!
To be fair, this was not the staff's fault. The client had booked my show at a bad time. In addition to my show, they also hired a balloon sculpture and an arts and crafts person ... in addition to all the fun activities that NY Kids Club already provides.
Well, I did the show and even with all the distractions (like all the parents chatting loudly ... the strolling videographer and photographer) the birthday boy told me my magic show was the best part of his party. High praise indeed.

$650 for 1st 10 children for standard parties
